ITAD Summit 2026: The Industry Stepped Up

There was something different about ITAD Summit this year.

It wasn’t simply bigger. It was better.

The booths were sharper, more intentional and more professional. Exhibitors didn’t just occupy space—they showed up ready to demonstrate who they are, what they do and where they believe this industry is going. The investment, creativity and energy across the show floor reflected an industry increasingly confident in its own value.

The same was true of the conversations.

This was the widest range of topics we have ever tackled at ITAD Summit—from data security, compliance and environmental responsibility to artificial intelligence, workforce development, global trade, advocacy, reuse and the future of secondary markets.

More importantly, those conversations included the broadest range of professional roles we have ever had in the room. Founders and CEOs were joined by operations leaders, compliance professionals, security experts, sales teams, policy advocates, sustainability executives, technology providers, downstream partners, OEMs and enterprise customers.

That depth matters.

ITAD is no longer a narrow conversation among companies managing retired technology. It is becoming a much larger discussion about data, value recovery, risk, sustainability, global commerce and the infrastructure required to support a truly circular technology economy.

The quality of this year’s Summit reflected that evolution.

We are becoming more sophisticated. Our conversations are becoming more substantive. Our expectations of one another are getting higher. And the industry is increasingly prepared to step forward and define itself—rather than allowing customers, regulators or adjacent industries to define it for us.

That is exactly why the Global ITAD Alliance exists.

GIA’s role is to bring this increasingly diverse industry together, create space for the difficult conversations, develop meaningful standards and ensure that ITAD has a credible, unified voice wherever decisions affecting our future are being made.

ITAD Summit 2026 demonstrated just how far this industry has come.

More importantly, it showed us how much further we are capable of going.
